The Voice Australia is currently airing on New Zealand TV and I love the show. It is an amazing format it’s interesting to watch and the mentors are all such interesting people I just feel the quality of the performances is lacking massively. I have been to a few of the X-Factor New Zealand shows and it is really interesting watching the show on TV and watching it live in the studio. Obviously it is going to sound better seeing the performance live in the studio but the thing that amazes me is the fact that it sounds SO different. I am wondering if the performances on the voice in Australia are sounding a lot different to what the mentors and studio audience are hearing while they watch live. It is definitely diminishing the quality of the show in a massive way which is really unfortunate considering these people most probably have amazing voices just the way it’s being packaged for TV isn’t quite bringing this through. It is just something to keep in mind while watching singing competitions on TV. It would be awesome if there was some way to resolve the issue and having the performances on air sounding more live.
